Half Turn :
A 180° turn as from front to back and vice versa.
Hectare :
Hectare is a metric unit area defined as 10,000 square meters.
Height :
Vertical distance from base to the top. The another name of height is altitude.
Hemi Sphere :
Half of the sphere.
Heptagon :
A polygon with 7 sides and 7 angles.
Hexagon :
A six sided polygon.
Histogram :
Histogram is a graphical representation in statistics. It shows the visual impression of the distribution data. It groups numbers in to ranges.
Horizontal :
Right angles to the vertical or parallel to the level ground. In graph paper x-axis is refer to the horizontal line. In the diagram below the line x = 1 is parallel to x axis.
Hyperbola :
One type of conics is hyperbola. Hyperbola is a set of points found by keeping the difference of the distances from two points is constant.
Hypotenuse :
The side opposite to the right angle in right angled triangle. Hypotenuse is the longest side of the right angled triangle.
Hypothesis :
An assumed statement used as a premise in an argument.
Half Angle Formulas :
In trigonometry we have half angle formulas.
sin A = 2 sin (A/2) cos (A/2)
cos A = cos² (A/2) - Sin² (A/2)
tan A = 2 tan (A/2)/[1-tan² (A/2)]
cos A = 1 - 2sin² (A/2)
cos A = 2cos² (A/2) - 1
sin A = 2 tan (A/2)/[1+tan² (A/2)]
cos A = [1-tan²(A/2)]/[1+tan² (A/2)]
sin²A/2 = (1-cos A)/2
cos²A/2 = (1+cos A)/2
tan²(A/2) = (1-cos A)/(1+cos A)
Heron's Formula :
To find the area of triangle when measurements of three sides are given.
Area of scalene triangle = √s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)
Here a, b and c are the sides of the triangle and s is known as perimeter of the triangle. To find the value of s we have to use the formula
s = (a+b+c)/2
Harmonic Mean :
This is nothing but the reciprocal of the arithmetic mean of the reciprocals of the given numbers.
In other words to find the H of the given numbers, we have to divide n (total number of given numbers) by the sum of the reciprocals of the given numbers.
Hour Clock Arithmetic :
If the divisor m = 12, then the arithmetic modulo 12 is called the clock arithmetic. The remainder can be related to hour numbers in a clock where 0 corresponds to the 12 hour.
Homogeneous Function :
A function of several variables is said to be homogenous of degree n if each variables are multiplying by t has the same effect as multiplying the original function by tⁿ.
That is,
f(tx, ty) = tⁿ f(x, y)
