6TH GRADE MATH PRACTICE ONLINE

Question 1 :

Which is the least 6 digit number of the following numbers

(A) 100050     (B) 100095     (C) 10000

Solution :

Comparing the above three numbers, 100050 is the least 6 digit number.

Question 2 :

The sum of two integers is 48. If one of the integer is -24, determine the other

(A) 62     (B) 72       (C) 24

Solution :

Sum of two integers  =  48

One of the integer  =  -24

Let x be the unknown

x + (-24)  =  48

 x  =  48 + 24

x  =  72

Question 3 :

Every prime number except 2 is an __________ number.

(A) Odd         (B) Even      (C) Composite

Solution :

2 is the only even prime number.

Question 4 :

Find the ratio of 250 kg to 10 kg.

(A) 25 : 1      (B) 15 : 50     (C) 1 : 25

Solution :

  =  250 : 10

  =  25 : 1

So, the ratio between 250 kg to 10 kg is 25 : 1

Question 5 :

Solve the equation

3x - 4 = 4 - (8 + 3x)

 (A) 5          (B) 2           (C) 0

Solution :

3x - 4  =  4 - (8 + 3x)

3x - 4  =  4 - 8 - 3x

3x - 4  =  -4 - 3x

3x + 3x  =  -4 + 4

6x  =  0

x  =  0

So, the answer is 0.

Question 6 :

A dot gives us an idea of a _____________

(A) Ray       (B) Point         (C) Line

Solution :

A dot gives an idea of point.

Question 7 :

Diameter of the circle is 12 cm. Find its radius?

 (A) 4 cm      (B) 6 cm      (C) 8 cm

Solution :

Radius is half of the diameter.

Radius  =  Diameter / 2

  =  12/2

Radius  =  6 cm

Question 8 :

Find the perimeter of the rectangle having length and breadth are 16 cm and 8 cm respectively.

 (A) 24 cm      (B) 76 cm         (C) 48 cm

Solution :

Length of the rectangle  =  16 cm, breadth  =  8 cm

Perimeter of the rectangle  =  2 (l + b)

  =  2(16 + 8)

  =  2(24)

  =  48 cm

Question 9 :

Solve for x,  x - 3 = 11

(A) 14          (B) 8      (C) 1

Solution :

x - 3  =  11

x  =  11 + 3

x  =  14

So the answer is 14.

Question 10 :

If the sum of two angles measures 90° then the angles are known as __________ angles.

(A) Complementary    (B) Supplementary    (C) Zero
