Since 37.2 is divided by 100, move the decimal point two digits to the left. 

37.2 ÷ 100 = 0.372

3. Answer :

37.2 ÷ 1000

Since 37.2 is divided by 1000, move the decimal point three digits to the left. 

37.2 ÷ 1000 = 0.0372

4. Answer :

Since we are going to share 16 pounds of cheese equally to 10 people, we have to divide 16 by 10 to know the share of each person.

So, let us divide 16 by 10.

Since there is no decimal point in 16, we have to assume that there is decimal point at the end.

We divide by 16 by 10. So, we have to move the decimal point one digit to the left.

16 ÷ 10 = 16/10 = 1.6

Hence, each person will receive 1.6 pounds of cheese.

5. Answer :

Given : 156 miles of distance covered in 100 minutes.

We all know the formula for speed.

That is,

speed = distance/time

speed = 156/100

Since there is no decimal point in 156, we have to assume that there is decimal point at the end.

We divide by 156 by 100. So, we have to move the decimal point one digit to the left.

156 ÷ 100 = 156/100 = 1.56

Hence, his speed is 1.56 miles per minute.

6. Answer :

Since we are going to share $256889 equally to 1000 people, we have to divide $256889 by 1000 to know the share of each person.

So, let us divide 256889 by 10.

Since there is no decimal point in 256889, we have to assume that there is decimal point at the end.

We divide by 256889 by 1000. So, we have to move the decimal point one digit to the left.

256889 ÷ 1000 = 256889/1000 = 256.889

Hence, the share of each worker is $256.889.
